Occupational Physician

Occupational physicians assess workers and their workplaces to advise on appropriate duties and graduated return to work (RTW) plans. They diagnose, evaluate and manage injury/disease related to past or future work tasks, and assess fitness for work/tasks. 

Consider referrals to Medilaw for:

  • Industrial injuries/accidents (including evaluation of causation)
  • Musculoskeletal injuries including back, neck, upper and lower limbs 
  • Ergonomic problems 
  • Toxic exposure (eg occupational asthma, exposure to fumes) 
  • Pain and chronic pain conditions 
  • RTW scheduling with conditions such as stroke, heart disorders, cancer
  • Assessment of impairment, disability and handicap
  • Assessment of capacity in both activities of daily living and in the workplace
